VBS Fun

Whew!  This was an exhausting week!  Fun, but exhausting.  Our VBS was Son World Adventure Park (a Six-Flags-type theme), so on Thursday night, we had a little surprise for all the kids.  The church rented a couple of inflatables and let the kids play.  They had a ball!  By the end of the night, they were pooped!  On the way home that night (after we had delivered 6 other kids to their homes), Jack said, "Daddy, can you hurry?  I'm ready to get in my bed."  He's usually the one we have to MAKE go to bed!  They were asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow! I'm sure all the other parents appreciated that night as much as we did!

This is my nephew, Jace sliding down the big slide.

This is Ethan climbing through the obstacle course.  This was a HUGE dragon.  It took up over half of our parking lot!

This is my niece, Lily jumping in the big sports-themed inflatable.  It had a huge baseball, football, soccer ball, and basketball on the top of it.  It also had a slide for the kids to slide out of it.  It was really neat!

Olivia had fun at VBS, too.  She ran a pretty high temperature all day Thursday so I took her to the pediatrician on Friday.  She swabbed her for strep throat, but that was negative.  But, she does have a viral fever, which means there is nothing we can do but give her Tylenol or ibuprofen.  She doesn't feel well at all, but maybe she'll get over this in another day or two.

We don't have much going on this week.  We'll probably swim with LaLa (my sister-in-law, Lauren) a day or two and we're planning a trip to Chuck E. Cheese's on Thursday.  I am also getting ready for a yard sale next weekend to clear out some of the storage buildings we have rented.  Have a great day!

Amazing Video--Must See

Shawn sent this to me a few minutes ago.  It is about 9 minutes long but well worth it.

Weekend

Hope everyone had a great weekend.  After Friday night, I have been exhausted.  I didn't do much, just missing out on those hours of sleep makes me feel awful.

Relay went well.  Calhoun Co. raised about $60,000, but that's about 1/2 of what we raised two years ago.  We didn't have quite as many people there this year but the turnout was okay.  We packed up our campsite by 11:30.  I hung around until the silent auction was over at midnight because I bid on a handmade porcelain doll for Olivia.  It is absolutely gorgeous!  I ended up winning it and Olivia loves it.  I got home about 12:30 but didn't get to sleep until after 2:30. We are usually in bed asleep by 10:30 so I have really missed those 4 hours.

At church, we went ahead and moved up our Sunday School classes, so I had pretty much a new group Sunday morning (including Ethan).  They were really good and I am going to enjoy them for the next few years.  One of the little girls in my class, Lakyn, was saved last week during another VBS.  We are all so proud for her!  She is a precious little girl and will be a big help to me in Sunday School with the younger kids moving up.

After church, the exhaustion hit us all and we slept the entire afternoon.  We woke up just a few minutes before we had to get ready for church again.  It was a wasted afternoon, but we all needed the rest.

The boys are at First Baptist's VBS this morning.  I took a picture of them before they left.  I don't always dress them alike, but usually whatever Ethan does, Jack follows.  But they DID look cute, huh?
We have our last t-ball game tonight against Jack's buddies from Houlka--Logan & Lana Rose.  I'll get some pics and maybe video of that on tonight.  Have a great day.

Doctor's Appt.

Olivia had a checkup at the pediatrician this afternoon.  No shots thank goodness.  She weighs 20.8 pounds and is 29 inches long and absolutely perfect.  (Spoiled rotten is all!)  She'll be 11 months old tomorrow.  Time has really flown this past year.  We're planning her 1st birthday party already!

The boys' t-ball game was rained out tonight so we have had a lazy night.

Relay for Life is tomorrow night and the boys are going to spend the night with Terry for Graham's birthday party Saturday.  We'll be at R4L most of the night so I won't get to post tomorrow night.  Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Just Getting Started...

Well, Libby has convinced me that blogging is the way to go.  I really enjoyed reading hers so I am going to attempt to create one for our family.  It may take me awhile to figure out all of the bells and whistles, but I will try my best.  Hopefully several others will take on this worthwhile project to help keep us in touch a little better.  Check back often.  I'll try to add a little every day.
